Annette Clements | Non-Counselling Social Worker
Annette, a proud descendant of Ngāpuhi and Waikato Tainui, is a registered social worker with a deep passion for empowering and uplifting those facing mental health and addiction challenges.
She has extensive experience in both secondary and primary healthcare services and has worked with at-risk youth, the disability sector, and alternative education. Annette is passionate about community support and is dedicated to helping those in need.
Her personal insight into the impact of mental distress gives her a unique depth of empathy and understanding, shaping the way she connects with and advocates for others. Through her work, she hopes to foster a more compassionate and supportive community—one where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

Social work approach
Experienced social worker providing brief interventions. Annette’s approach is client-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based, ensuring a safe and supportive space for individuals who have experienced sexual trauma and assault. Through collaboration and working together with the Kiritaki and lead counsellor, her goal is to empower, validate the Kiritaki experiences, restore their sense of agency, and support them in reclaiming their strengths while ensuring they have access to ongoing support networks and resources for long-term well-being.
